While studying business at Babson College, Alison conceived the idea for Injeanius. Her dream began to take shape when she discovered a vacant space in Boston's iconic North End. Despite the district being celebrated predominantly for its Italian eateries and cafés - with virtually no retail presence - Alison faced skepticism head-on. Undeterred by the doubters, she rallied friends and family to help bring her vision to life. On July 7, 2005, Injeanius proudly opened its doors.

The store was an immediate hit among locals and tourists alike. and after only two years in business, Injeanius was awarded Boston Magazine's "Best in Boston Award for Best Women's Jeans" Alison's curation of denim was spot on, but she was undoubtedly the secret sauce behind the success:

Injeanius started to outgrow its charming footprint in the North End, so Alison began to look for a larger space to bring her baby to the next level. With a savvy business sense in addition to her fashion maven status, she explored various retail neighborhoods - the first being Newbury Street, the go-to shopping mecca in Boston at the time. As always, Injeanius found success with Back Bay dwellers and visitors alike. Although the pop-up shop flourished, Alison wasn't content with the location, and kept her eyes and ears peeled for other exciting location opportunities.

During her search, Alison decided to rebrand with a new logo and tagline: Elevate the Everyday. She envisioned Injeanius making a fresh start in an emerging retail neighborhood, reminiscent of its original launch in 2005. People were buzzing about the Seaport District, a former industrial area known for artist communities, textile factories, and waterfront vistas. Boston was in the midst of transforming the district with expansive green spaces, mixed-use buildings, and cutting-edge shops and cafes. To gauge the potential, Alison secured a spot in The Current, an innovative retail pop-up village, entirely fresh to the district.

The burgeoning Seaport District was a win-win for Injeanius with its up-and-coming retailers, daily emerging foodie spots, and modern residential offerings. Given the success of Alison's pop-up, the district was so impressed that it offered her a prime location in The Superette. This European-inspired retail village boasts over 40 stores, restaurants, & entertainment venues. Eager to expand, Alison embraced the opportunity. Her new space was set to be more than twice the size of her original location in the North End.

The Injeanius flagship store in Boston's Seaport District officially opened on July 1, 2022. As the first female-owned local business to grace The Superette, its quick success reinforced Alison's reputation as the "Blue Jean Queen." With over 1,100 square feet, the new space enabled Alison to add more than just denim. She introduced a range of tops from cashmere sweaters to dressy blouses, jumpsuits, jackets, and accessories. The 'style lounge' is adorned with a curved velvet sofa, and shoppers love to hang here between dressing room fittings. It also serves as a chill-out spot during the private parties her customers love to host.
